I think i've heard most of the artists that released stuff 1970-84 (not counting the super-obscure stuff).
The last band/artist I remember discovering was Light of Saba (with Cedric Im Brooks).

If you like Vin Gordon you should check this out. This tune is as good as it gets:

YouTube - Light Of Saba - Lambs Bread Collie (12 inch)

But dub/reggae is also good for rediscovering stuff. Yesterday I stumbled upon some scientist dubs that I had not heard for years...

like this one...

YouTube - Scientist - Your Teeth In My Neck

Midnite may be one of my favorite "new crucial roots" reggae bands EVER.

If you dont know their works, please go get an album or youtube them.

but to be honest...reggae and dub for me...is more about discovering gems. Whenever I discover a golden tune I get so happy, but there's also so much crap out there.

another recently discovered thing, forwarded to me by Rob (irish moss), was Observer All stars - Japanese dub basket/observer punchin dub.

Probably the craziest oldschool dub i've ever heard. I still I haven't heard anything quite like it.

I just DL’d an Earl Sixteen album off I-tunes and it rocks, its wicked, I can’t believe I’ve never listened to him before.

So I thought it would be fun to know if anyone else has ‘discovered’ any new talents lately.

Other successes this year for me have been

The Joe Gibbs Africa dub vols
***** Moses – revolutionary dream
Vin Gordon’s - Musical Bones (haven’t taken this of play since I got it)

What have been your hidden treaures?
Earl sixteen is wicked. If you get a chance, check out the stepper that he did called "gates of hell." Also checkout the works that he did with Dreadzone. Wicked, wicked stuff. That is if you like dance music with a reggae twist..

Things I recently picked up..

Still cool-To be poor is a crime..
The itals-cool and dread.. What a find!! that lp is really hard to get..
Mikey Dread-Rocker's Vibration

Bless!
