Default Non Reggae Recommendations


The other day some one posted a recommendation of Adele. I really liked some of it.

So in the same vein I have discovered a band that blows my mind. IT IS FREAKIN BLUEGRASS!!!!!!!

You have to check out Crooked Still. They are on ITunes. This band does stuff that I have never heard like a Cello in Bluegrass. They keep a rhythm with a Fiddle chop. The Banjo is there obviously but it is not annoying as it is in much Folk music. Seriously, this band is awesome!!!! Oh and the singer is pure heavenly!

So if you have some non-reggae recommends that must be checked out, post em up!

Hate commercial country music with a passion, but love some good ol pickin

This is a guy I fooled around with briefly when I lived in NYC in 1992.
Hahah
Very talented on pedal steel. Really funny.
But massive alcoholic.
Used to finish a six pack before breakfast.
Tragically, he was in a house fire about eight years ago, and had third degree burns on most his body. Most his fingers were burned off.
He can still play, somewhat now, but has to use some kind of special glove.
These are tunes he did from when I knew him.
Even tho he loved jazz, I'm not totally sold on the crossover he did, cos as a jazz thing, it's a little tame for me.. You can hear he is really a country player outta Austin, but really love the sound he gets.
