Default wooooo hooooooo!

I am currently installing Logic Studio! I had a cracked copy that I messed up and let "update" and then needed a serial number... but I did have it long enough to KNOW that I needed this wicked program. So I went today and bought it. The freaking box weighs like 10 pounds. The manual is literally an inch and a half thick, but I know already that it is easy to use and very familiar to those who came up on FLS. It is easy to see where FLS got their interface ideas from. The included effects blow away every other software that I have tried. The included convolution reverb is just sick. The presets are just class where so many have cheese for presets. Folks that love Live would easily get into Logic. Much of what is available in Live is there. One of the features that I like is that if you tell it what key a loop is in it can change it to fit the key of your song and put it in time. No guessing... Nice!

Downside? The installer is estimating a 6 hour installation for some reason!!!!! LOL Dang!

Now ProTools 7.4 has some nice new features that I love too like Elastic Audio, which allows you to time stretch loops as you like but also Quantize AUDIO. Now some of you Pros may not need these little tricks, but for the rest of us it is a God-send.

I have been debating upgrading to Reason 4 but I have not yet. The new interface is not to my liking. It doesn't seem user friendly anymore. Unlike Logic... familiarity is all gone.

Anyways, what do you guy folks think of the new stuff that is out? What are you using on Mac?

It comes with all of the Jam Packs that Garageband uses. All of the content for Soundtrack Pro along with Soundtrack Pro. Samples, presets galore. 8 DVDs 30 something GBs unpacked. It has like 1700 EXS24 instruments. Ultrabeat drum samples. Convolution Reverb Impulse Responses.... it goes on and on.

that's quite impressive. sounds like its moved on a lot since the days i was using it. At least you feel like you're getting your money's worth with that much content.

is this the one? - Apple Logic Studio - MA797Z/A - SaverSoftware

I can't believe its that cheap if it is, incredible. Puts ableton live to shame.

I stick to FL, Blam. I have my lifetime updates and the stuff does all I want.
But hey, I'm an amateur *LOL*
6 hours, man.... they beat Microsoft with this. ;-)
What does the fun cost?

Seen Alionsonny. The thing about it is that Microsoft blew it when I needed a new PC and all that I could get was Vista machines. I am only working on Mac now. Trust me bro, this is where it is at.

Meef, that is the same package. Incredible deal f or real when you add up the cost of the previous versions that you had to buy separate. It comes with 1700 sampler instruments.... ProTools, eh, the XPand plug in that was ok but had like 50 sounds. No Synths, just a VERY few basic effects.

I was playing with it for a few minutes last night at 11:30 when it finally finished, and found a Bass insert setting called Dubwise that has THE perfect sound for Reggae/Dub bass when I play my Bass through it... it was always difficult to get things like that before, either clipping or too much compression and too much mids.... this is just thick heavy round nastiness, that I just love.

Anyways, I am not trying to start one of the my set up is better threads, but rather to say that I am loving this program.
