Spliffington here from Colly-4-nyah...fell in love with reggae in the early 70s, lived in JA for about 6 mos in '76 and 4 more mos in '78...been in a number of bands since that time, although I seem to go thru this cycle every few years wherein after awhile I get sick of the music-biz sharks, cheap@$$ booking agents, dillettantes, hangers-on etc. & 'retire' from music which my wife loves cos it means (in her eyes) she gets more of me to herself

...but I get so miserable when I'm not playing music that sooner or later she sez, "go jam with your friends or something, you're being too much of a b*tch hanging around here"...so I go jam with my old buds, and say to myself "hey that sounds really good, we should do something with this"...& so the cycle begins anew...prob. why I never really reached too far in the music biz, but I love reggae too much to just play pop and/or covers, so I guess I'm stuck in this 'niche' market...any other musicians here feeling me on this?
I'm pretty old-skool, all I have is a little digi recorder that I play live instruments into except for the drum machine built into the recorder which I program. The keyboard I use is pretty cheesy, with horn sounds to match, but I hope to get a better one soon, or get some decent sound software to get more 'realism' from my horns...I wouldn't mind collabing with good people who have the production or vocal skills that I lack...my dream in all of this is to maybe write a bass riddim or two that will stand the test of time, like the old Studio One riddims that still rule the dancehall 40 yrs. later! Big ups and respect to all the music makers, and nuff nuff thanks to Rob for providing this venue for allawi to share...Moss yu large! Apologies for the long post...
