what software are you using? I dont think there's any easy way really

there used to be a free vst to detect bpm but doesnt really work for vocals

if you're using ableton live you can tap the tempo in along to the vocal and the master bpm should change & be close to the vocal's original bpm

you'll see the tap button on the top at the left, you can assign it to a qwerty key or a midi button so you can just tap along. It wont be perfect but it'll get you close

Alionsonny might have some tips for FL

Usually in FL Studio, I make a clicktrack with the closed hihat. One hard hit one softer... ya know it...

Then I put the accapella in one audio channel and turn the BPM up/down until it fits to the clicktrack.

If it is a natural accapella, sang to a band playing, you will experience more or less, that the vocals go off the riddim, because your riddim has 100% pure digital accuracy ;-) . Cutting and slicing the vocals (accapella) is the only option for this. Then you realign the vocal slices to the clicktrack.

Usually I cut all silent part of an accapella out, keep the parts where something is earable and then align those parts to the riddim.

Hope this helps. If not, I'm here ;-)

There's a thing called FruitySlicer or FL Slicer in FL Studio as a plugin allready. I confess: I never put my hand on this and I do not have the slightest idea how it works. But some folks say that slicer does a good job... at least on drums....

I do it the oldfashioned way: I use an audio editor, I love Goldwave, to do that whole cutting stuff. It gives me the possibility to zoom deep inside the waveform and set the cut on a very precise position. Goldwave is also good, because it has some inplace effects like filters and noisegates, so after you cut a particular part of an accapella, you can remove hissing and humming at the same step.

Generally I say: Get an audio editor, preferable one which can zoom in a lot. Cut out all parts where somebody sings and save them to new files. So after that you have a few files instead of one. Now place those vocal bits on the correct position in your FL Studio project.

Any more questions?

Yeah Slicer is not a good tool for this. It is much too rough. Like doing surgery with an axe. Check out Edison if you have a newer version of FL Studio.
