what a strange year, from the high and togetherness of the murcia gathering, where everybody wore their versionist badge with pride to the ongoing farce that calls itself v now.just talked with tim/don fe on the phone and basically we feel the same way.im even thinking of dropping the name v from the gathering poster as i feel bad about promoting a site i have no faith in.so it might end up as el bibs reggae rubadubinnapub in association with rdw, ukrg radio.the irony is steve is partially responsible for reggae dubwise.if v was still flowing,im sure rob wouldnt have felt the need to form rdw.i think he should sell up now and retain a bit of dignity.for in the end if he is truthful he will realise he is responsible for the low value of the site as well.the fact that he thinks he owns the v back catalogue is ludicrous,he should just give them to rob for nothing.either that or a lot of artists will be consulting their lawyers.it seems the august gathering will be both a beginning and a end.

I would be not too optmistic that Stevie still has the forumdatabase and songs. I think he deleted all the stuff from the harddisks about a week after switching to Versionist.net. Trust me: I know this kind of "IT Professionals" and they tend to do such bullshit. So I don't wonder about the riddiculous ammount of cash Steve wanted to have for the remains of V. He just wanted to make sure that the price is so riddiculous, that every sane man would say "F*CK YOU!".

Let me jump in here and quell some fears and misinformation regarding the V back catalogue.

As many of you may have noticed have been pretty quiet in the last few months due to alot of issues but mainly due to the decay of what was my "Virtual" home away from home. Versionist.com

I can tell you all that after a lengthy phone call with Steve this morning, I assure you all the V back catalogue is still "in tact" and nothing has been deleted.

I have asked Steve permission to mediate between the 2 parties. V.Com and RDW - I reached out to my bredren Rob this morning and am awaiting a return reply from him.

I think I may be able to salveage some sort of agreement between the two parties as to the transference of the ENTIRE back catalogue of forum posts as well as uploaded tracks.

Bredren, [please know that there are legalities associated with the transferring of the backcatalogue but it does seem that there are possible options that can be looked into.

Steve is not a bad guy, in fact he is a good man who had good intentions for the site. In my opinion he underestimated the passion and I'll also use the word fanatacism many of us have for the old V.com.

There is hope for the transferring of the old catalogue to RDW. Let's see how talks progress.

I'll try to keep everyone updated. That is if the two parties agree to have me mediate as I am friends with both.

Waiting to hear back from Rob.

David, that Peacemaker is here
Good luck with that approach.

EDIT: Btw, if Steve gives the stuff to RDW, then V is 1000% obsolete... hmm, Steves interest?

hat back catalogue of archived forum posts as well as tracks is holy ground for many of us here and like hell if it's going to be deleted.

SOMETHING MUST BE WORKED OUT TO SAVE THAT HISTORY.

Steve is aware of how important that catalogue is and will not just blatantly wipe it off the face of this earth.

There is still room for both parties to reach an agreement. Let's stay positive.

Its a history book that can be copied,
I mean you can copy the archive and both parties can use it
so it doesnt have to be that expensive at all
and both parties can have the benefits

Positive as allways, even if Doomsday awaits at the doorsteps, that's how I know you David
Hmm, I still do not get what is so valuable about the stuff as I said some posts ago. But then again I got confirmed by at least one former Versionist, that there are indeed artists who delete their tunes after uploading from the own harddisks.... unbelievable but true......
But the forum-stuff? I dunno, aside from a few tutorials and Linklinsts I cannot remember anything valuable from the forum.
Can we PLEASE RESTORE THE REASONINGS & SPIRITUAL Section. I want to continue with all the bumboclaat that went on deh *LOL*
