Very well expressed Bill.
I hope that Paul777 comes over here too - (google and wikipedia must miss the traffic) - also Mutant Dog - whatever happened to him? (or were Paul and MD the same person............)

hope all goes well for you and your family.

Well Blam, that was quite easy for me. I changed the Bookmark-Link that pointed to Versionist at the day I first saw RDW, because I knew it would beat the remains of V in any way. One had not to be a genius to see that So, I still visit the same Bookmark, see the same folks, ear the same great stuff. Nothing has really changed, except for that I feel more home on RDW as I ever did on Versionist. It is a slightly other spirit and I hope this will stay.

All the best to your wife, man. Seems to be bad times. Lots of my friends family members have health issues, especially cancer stuff. I'm quite glad that everybody is well at the alions den... and then again, I've not visited a doctor for ages....

or Skankindaddy?
My prayers are with you,Bill,as well.I just noticed on the "other" site all threads relating to this topic are deleted or buried. Speaks volumes about that sites's admin.I had issue with his him changing the site over in the begining anyway, and while I perhaps had trouble articulating it, was met with resistance. Rather than delete my account (why,so someone else can use my name? Just a thought ..) I opted instead to simply not post anymore music until things improved, which sadly, despite a revamped look, does not seem to be happening. On one of the now absent threads, Teapot comments Steve should not have to listen to anyone disagree with him to which Steve replied "Thank You".

Really it is a bit odd how deep some of us feel about this scene. Obviously it is not a site. The core has moved and transitioned with ease for the most part. All that was left as far as Versionist goes is sentimentality. But for what? I think that part that we feel the loss of is the habit of visiting the website. Habits die hard. I spoke to Rob a long while back about hoping it would die off in finality so that I wouldn't have to visit it and witness what it had become. I think all of us have gone through tremendous changes that have been shared by the scene that has become a real circle of friends. That is all still alive. I remember you going through the loss of your friend Elvis. I remember Pete Murdertone's Dad passing. I remember all the serious fights and bickering. Even the ones that went on for ages. Marcus vs. Notwen. Everyone it seems vs. Alionsonny, me vs' Messian Dread etc etc etc... these things all have had impacts on us and who we are really. All of those things forward with us and are not lost. I was thrilled to find that I had friends that had more diligently than I did documented my music progress by getting and keeping every song. I bet Rob has most of them too. I didn't until I-Rebel sent them to me. What is the value of this? These needs and connections and friendship are not met by a Website. But solely by the people who have blessed the site. If the owner was not a blessing, oh well. That is gone but the people have not scattered. They couldn't have. And I don't think anything could have forced them. See, for me it is not about the gigs or anything like that. For me it is knowing people who feel what I feel. In my town I really don't know anyone that knows Reggae. If they do know it they think of only Bob Marley. What is the value of coming into contact with people that are going in the same direction as you? What is the value of getting to know people who can help you and inspire you and challenge you? What is the value of real friends? Yes indeed, many of us get on each others nerves and some think that they cannot stand each other, but I have to ask, what makes Alionsonny stay? He has always challenged that system. He never tried to fit the mold, but he still stayed through all the fights. I hope to see Paul777 come through here. Why? I do feel as if we are family.

So I am done being vexed.

My wife has to go to an orthopedic oncologist next week to deal with some bone tumors. So really this issue with Versionist is starting to fade for me. It is a matter of perspective. We would appreciate the prayers of this family.

Blessins
Very true words. Blessed Love to your wife and family Bill. Hope all goes well.

I am also done being vexed by this situation. I prefer to use this energy to become more positive. As regards VISS, I am still thinking of what to do on that front, but I have to remove all concept of Versionist I feel, as I cannot participate in the current owners behaviour. So I am deleting all my songs there, and will more or less permanently move over here.

John, I know you must be feeling royally pissed off right now with all the work you and Bill are putting into something that was supposed to be a 'versionist' thing, but bredren - dont let it get you down. Let's all move forwards, and there is NO WAY THAT THE CURRENT OWNERS ATTITUDE SHOULD PREVENT IT FROM BEING THE BEST EVENT YET!!! Seriously bro' - I may have dropped the site, but am still there with my bredren and sistren 100%.

Enough has been said I feel, and everyone knows what the score is, so let's leave it. Onwards and forwards RDW and all future events that Im sure will now be organised even better than ever before. Im done with negativity, we need positivity!

Yeah - him too. A lot of people who were regulars just drifted away over time.

Even not a personal goodbye. I get an automated message by a server, not mentioning Versionist in any way... no comment...
At least it let you delete your account, lol - comes up as an error everytime I try, lol! So much for a graceful exit, lol!
