Default Telford "Tilly Roots" Nelson - Chase the Devil Away

<a href="http://reggaedubwise.com/play.php?mode=song_hifi&band_id=1725&song_id=4704" >Stream: Telford Tilly Roots Nelson "Chase The Devil Away" SpringlineJamaica</a>

Song of the week. Month. Maybe of the first year of Reggaedubwise.com

I am overjoyed to see Springline JA present this killer roots vocal and dub of Tilly's Chase the Devil Away. Couldn't have been dropped at a better time. Straight to the Devils head.

I'll say it just once more. This is the EXACT REASON I wanted to start Reggaedubwise.com with Carl. So a GREAT ARTIST meets a GREAT PRODUCER and releases a GREAT CRUCIAL TUNE. Simple isn't it? This is what a reggae site is about.

Smiling ear to ear.

Great work Tilly and Ras Gibsy. I'm thoroughly impressed to no end.

I have had the great experience of hanging with Tilly here in town, chilling up in the gates and breaking bread. I very much look forward to it again no matter where my gates may be. Nice one star. Nice one.

Many thanks Rob for your kind and thoughtful words ,It's been a long haul this one getting everything together ,it's only just begun and will continue ,we already have more works in archive from Tilly ,we're dealing direct with Kingston which can be a slow process but extreemly worthwhile and rewarding non the less when all involved are positively co operating ,right down to my personal phone conversation with studio mix engineer Mikey Dyke who is a blast i might add! I have regular phone chats with Telford to discuss which riddims ,how the mix sounds ,what needs changing ,which riddim to extend into a discomix etc..lovely people ,always happy ,laughing and yet serious ,deadly serious about their work
and any comment from myself regarding a tune is met with "glad you pointed that out ,I'll get back on it" and off he walks back down to the studio to revoice or remix ,gawd knows what Springline's phone bill is going to be next month ,but the very vibe that comes from doing this makes it all worth it.
**Now a little word ,indirectly and directly linked to this..
I've made the massive mistake of curiosity and had a look round at a non interesting website that goes by the name of 'V' as a guest into the dreaded forum area ,which seems by and large to be operated and used by one person ,,,by and large.
Threads about V versus RDW ,and other sillyness threads caught my eye for the reason that a comment made regarding a "veteran getting snapped up by a Major and sold into slavery" in a particular thread has quite frankly pissed me off ,although not mentioning the Springline name direct i can honestly say that firstly we are not a Major ,secondly the sold into slavery comment is untrue..My man tilly has recieved from our budget so far in the past 2 months around $500 ,which is NOT an advance ,it's wages to an artist that freely requested working with us ,SpringlineMusic Group has also paid for a run of CD's to be pressed on Tilly's Paradise label in Ja ,and we will be releasing the same tune pon digital stores on the SJ label (Under official signed licence with Tilly's label which i negotiated) with an unpresidented 50% royalty to Paradise from sales on SJ label. He's a business man you see ,an artist from time but he ain't no walkover ,veterans of reggae are very wise and business like people.
sold into slavery my fuckin arse ,someone needs to get info and facts right before saying crap like that. The fact that the postings around these particular comments were in subject to RDW and recent goings on i must assume with all logic that Springline is the label in mind with this particular posting over at 'v' ,and it's not for the first time that we ''havn't'' been mentioned ..when a thread here that i started asking good people to show a dollar or two towards the upkeep of this site and pointed out why it was important to have a site such as RDW continue etc ,well ,this was commented on over at reggaefriends.com negatively by the very same person who seems to be by and large the only person posting on the 'V' forums also, i chose to ignore that comment ,but if this sold into slavery jibe IS directed at Springline I'm gonna get pissed off in fine style ,make no mistake ,i will not let my label be accused by unlogical assumption, directly or indirectly of any thing untoward with our artist's..they recieve royalty's from sales and if signed to us (properly signed that is!)then if requested to us they recieve help if needed for recording ,video ,distribution ,all the things a label is supposed to do ,if they ask they get,,we try our best ,and if they dont get anything (unsigned or signed from royalties ,,it's because their release/s aint sold anything!!! simple.) Example: The Manor has recieved around 50 quid sterling from us since christmas for sales of Super Apes album (royalties) Steve Steppa has had hundreds of dollars from Springline during the past two years ,Hassle will shortly be due some royalties from their EP we put out...and Telford has done alright out of us ,and we him ,bless. called business. Another comment by a different poster ,(someone who actually sent me a rude yet ridiculous pm here )was complaining about artist's selling their stuff INSTEAD of giving it away saying "the few micro pence they've earnt.....etc" well ,Super Apes bought in a few quid didn't it pal ,because The Manor and friends had the business sense to let a label put it out on their behalf...mind you ,we've only ever sold 1 copy of Earlyworm as far as i know ,but hey ,you win some you lose some. we can't guarantee sales.
we cant promise anything but we try. Sold into Slavery my arse!!!
wicked tune from Telford ,more to come.
cheers Rob for the nice review
and thanks to all for the pm's and vote of positve forwardness to us ,
...needed to be said incase anyone is wondering what we actually do as an indie
label ,it aint no easy ride. cheers.

Wicked tune for real and the bad mind will destroy it's self. As far as I know your work has been nothing less than a blessing!
