Hello, i will make a start in discussions on this forum topic called dubwise.
What is dub now adays ?
There are several names with the name dub in it, dubwise, dubstep, dubplate, or just dub.
What is the real dub ?????
Anyone must now the album from black uhuru ''the dub factor''
witch is the first totaly dub vibe plate on earth.
It holds all the magic elements that make dub great.
This album seems on top of a pyramid build of all dubplates there are.
I see this in a way of copyright !
All musical styles of bands and persons relate in this way to other music.
Sounds your music like a early studio or channel one sound ?
Or sounds it like a wailer sound ?
Or sounds it like a UK reggae sound, like bush chemists or many others.
You might be inspirated by other records you have lissent.
Is dub related to reggae sound, or can it be a mix of ethno sounds, ambient, techno sounds, like ''Future sounds of londen'' or the Orb.
Music making in dub is also about breaking music styles into newer styles or sounds.
I see this also in a way of breaking copyright into a new original sound or style.
