Do NOT buy berhinger audio equipment especially analog. Behringer is built to die and does not have qualtities that you are looking for reggae and dub.
You want something with warm and working channels. Pre's. No effects on board. Hook up analog effects to the auxes (pref at least 6-8).
Used. Ebay. Craigs list. You'd be amazed what 2-300.00 us dollars can get you. Soundcrafts, allen n heaths...

I swear every 6 mos I am forced to make my anti behringer proclamation. When people that deal with equipment tell you how lousy the parts and assembly is on these things you listen. The only exception I've heard is the BC controller. Everyone around me who purchased Behringer dumped it all fast. It sounded and worked like garbage.

Every couple months I need a reminder,LOL.Bush Doktor (the original-not the fake one floating around-note spelling)told me once or twice, come to think of it,that the signal to noise ratio on Behringer dj mixers were horrible.
Sorry Manor,we'll keep looking though....I'm sort of keen to having 8 channels
to use the ADAT for live field work, but since I'm hardly ever in the field.....???

Behringer XENYX 1222FX Mixer with Effects from zZounds.com!
Mate Gramps got similar one from the series which is what we have all the fun with in tha gramps studio. Hooking up two laptops, two soundcards, some keyboards, even usin old roland drummachine as outboard effect unit.

However, runnin everyting in ableton we still havn't managed to actually record xenyx fx going back in abletone. some soundcard drivers problems involved.
Actually among 99 fxs at least one really decent reverb, delay & phaser presets are included.

Behringer soundquality sucks for sure.... i think there's one unit that does it's job quite good when used subtle and that the tube enhancer. I got one and must admit that i think it sound better then the SPL's when used subtle. If you want more dramatic enhancement then i'd go for the SPL's.
But the behringer mixers are a bad buy. You'd better go for a good 2nd hand Soundtracs, Soundcraft, Allen & Heath.

I use a Tascam FW1884 as my interface and it also allows me to be able to combine modern digital technology with old school analogue techniques and tools. It has 8 balanced inputs and it works excellent with Cubase, Sonar, Protools... virtually anything that's out there. I hate wasting money on temporary fixes... this mixer/interface even can be used as a standalone for when I do multiple DJ sets. I can even run phantom power on all 8 channels if needed and physically add more channels(if needed).
It is my soundcard for my cpu via firewire... so everything hooks up real neat and clean. I've had it for about 4yrs now and no problems(thanks to great drivers, support, and the Mackie Emulation I use as my global setting)

Good luck Brad
